Parking at Multnomah Falls

Historic Highway Federal Project Affecting Multnomah Falls Traffic Columbia River Historic Highway 30 CLOSED at Wahkeena Falls/Multnomah Falls.
Please be advised:  As of October 2024, the Federal Government is conducting an extensive construction project on the Westbound Viaduct of the Columbia River Historic Highway 30. As a result, the Historic Highway is closed at Wahkeena Falls and Multnomah Falls. This project is having a major effect on traffic congestion, especially on the Columbia River Historic Highway 30. The Bridal Veil Exit (#28) off of Interstate-84 will take you to Wahkeena Falls, but you will NOT be able to get to Multnomah Falls.  If you are visiting Multnomah Falls, it is highly advised to park on the Interstate-84 Multnomah Falls parking area (Exit 31 off Interstate-84). It is a “left-hand exit” into the parking area. Visitors insisting on taking Historic Highway 30 via the Ainsworth Exit off Interstate-84 (exit 35) are experiencing traffic congestion on the Historic Highway 30 for miles and getting stuck in the congestion (often with no turn-around options) for up to an hour.  On busy days the I84 parking lot may have gates closing the exit 31 ramp east bound. To access the lot, continue on I84, take exit 35 to return on I84 westbound to access the freeway lot as there are no gates on the westbound ramp You can view the Multnomah Falls Interstate-84 Parking area LIVE at:https://www.oregontravels.com/_roads/nw_I-84_at_Multnomah_Falls_Parking_2732.html#google_vignette
This Federal Construction Project is expected to last until May of 2025.
Multnomah Falls Company, Inc. is not, in any way, involved in the parking systems at Multnomah Falls. Sasquatch Shuttle operates the parking on the Historic Highway, across from Multnomah Falls Lodge, and the Oregon Department of Transportation operates the parking area off of interstate-84 (exit 31). http://www.sasquatchshuttle.comhttps://www.oregon.gov/odot/Pages/index.aspx
