Multnomah Falls is located just 15 minutes East of Troutdale off I-84 interstate highway.
Directions from downtown Portland
Travel east on interstate highway I-84 The highway signs will indicate heading towards The Dalles. Travel approximately 35 miles east to the Multnomah Falls parking lot exit 31 which is a left hand exit.
Directions from the Portland Airport
Travel South on interstate highway I-205. Follow signs to head east on highway I-84 Highway signs will indicate heading towards The Dalles
Travel approximately 25 miles to the Multnomah Falls parking lot exit 31 which is a left hand exit.
Directions from The Dalles / Hood River
Travel west on interstate highway I-84. This highway signs will indicate heading towards Portland. Travel west until you reach the Multnomah Falls exit 31. Approximately 55 miles from The Dalles, 35 miles from Hood River.
Columbia River Scenic Highway
For a more scenic drive you may travel on the Historical Columbia River Scenic Highway. The winding road will deliver you to Multnomah Falls but on the way you will be captivated by breathtaking views of the Columbia River Gorge. Some sites to stop and see along the way include the Vista House at Crown Point and several other waterfalls and view points.
This highway can be accessed at 3 locations as you travel from the west (Portland or the Airport)
- The first access is at the Lewis and Clark Park exit 15. Turn Left at stop and Follow signs to Multnomah Falls approximately 15 miles
- The second access is at Corbett exit 22. Travel approximately 3 miles up the hill to the top where the road will make a Y. Proceed to the left and head east on the Historic Columbia River Scenic Highway. To Multnomah Falls approximately 10 miles
- The third access is at Bridal Veil exit 28. Follow signs to Multnomah Falls, approximately 3 miles.
